Make your voice heard

Because PA law doesn’t provide adequate recycling or collection resources for electronics, you and 12 million other Pennsylvanians may be without convenient and affordable options. It’s time to speak up.

Legislators need to hear about the negative impact this law is having in our communities. The Covered Device Recycling Act (Act 108 of 2010) is a flawed law and must be fixed to ensure that you and every other Pennsylvania resident has access to convenient and affordable trash disposal and recycling options.

Here are some resources you can use to help move the issue forward:

Call or write your legislator

Find your legislator and use these sample materials (includes letter and talking points).

Contact the manufacturer

Contact the original equipment manufacturer and share your experience. Ask them what they are doing to ensure you can recycle your electronics under the law. For the most up-to-date contact list of all manufacturers doing business in Pennsylvania, please visit the Department of Environmental Protection website or get the PDF: Manufacturers Contact List.

Write a letter to your local newspaper or TV editor
